OTT Conference 2024 in Barcelona: Thinks Tanks Serving Communities
Representatives of the Integrated Health Services (IHS) project in Kosovo attended the “Think Tanks and Their Communities” conference in Barcelona from 21-23 May 2024. Organized by On Think Tanks, the event sparked vibrant discussions on the evolving roles of think tanks in building and fostering communities, exploring how they can bridge the gap between research, policy, and the public.
The conference emphasized the need for think tanks to be seen as trusted community members, not just elite institutions. Keynote speeches, diverse sessions, and discussions underscored the necessity of integrating various disciplines and incorporating perspectives from multiple communities. It was highlighted that true progress comes when think tanks embrace their roles as facilitators and collaborators, working alongside communities to bridge the gap between research and policy.
“The OTT Conference was an excellent opportunity to gain insights from global experts in the think tank field. Our goal is to apply this knowledge to the healthcare sector in Kosovo by fostering community collaboration and engaging directly with the communities we serve. We aim to create a more inclusive and integrated healthcare system in Kosovo,” said Linda Baleta, Senior Advocacy Officer at IHS project.
