Effective Communication to Enhance Healthcare
The communication skills of nursing staff are crucial for effective patient care. This was the central theme of a training session led by Professor Assistant Rukije Mehmeti on 19 June 2024.
The training aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of communication concepts and highlight their role in improving healthcare practices. It emphasized the importance of sharing easily understandable health information, incorporating real-life examples, role-playing scenarios, and focusing on active listening.
For Professor Assistant Mehmeti, quality communication is the cornerstone of the art and science of nursing. By enhancing communication skills, healthcare professionals can significantly improve patient outcomes and the overall quality of healthcare.
This session is part of an accredited nurse training program delivered by IHS in collaboration with the General Hospitals of Peja and Gjakova. The program, developed based on a Training Needs Assessment for health professionals, is accredited by the Chamber of Nurses of Kosovo.
