Strengthening Community Media Literacy on Health
On 19 November 2025, the second of the series of community-based workshops on health media literacy was held in Mitrovica, bringing together civil society representatives and local advocates working with patients.
The session introduced participants to the growing challenge of health misinformation and its impact on people living with chronic conditions. Guided discussions demonstrated how false or misleading claims spread online, why they erode trust in healthcare services, and how community members can play a critical role in stopping their circulation.
Participants analysed real examples from social media, learned to assess the credibility of online health content, and explored how algorithms shape what people see and believe. Practical exercises helped participants identify manipulation tactics and practice simple verification techniques.
