Fourth Meeting of IHS Project Steering Committee to Discuss Progress
On 25 October 2024, the Integrated Health Services (IHS) project Steering Committee (SC) convened to assess ongoing activities and prepare for the next steps in the project’s implementation. Mr. Peter Sidler, Deputy Head of International Cooperation, Embassy of Switzerland, SDC in Kosovo, also SC co-chair, opened the meeting. “I’m pleased to work together to ensure projects like IHS make a meaningful difference. I look forward to a fruitful exchange today,” he noted.
The session included in-depth briefings by the project team and input from various partners and stakeholders, highlighting the importance of this stage in the project’s timeline. Presentations and discussions shared perspectives on current progress, and also challenges. “This project is composed of interconnected interventions that support the broader goals of the Kosovo Government to advance the healthcare system,” Mr. Sidler observed, underlining the project’s alignment with national development objectives.
Dr. Naim Bardiqi, General Secretary of the Ministry of Health, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with the Swiss government. He acknowledged the IHS project’s contribution to strengthening Kosovo’s healthcare system and confirmed that the Ministry is on a strong trajectory to advance these shared goals.
