Coordination Meeting of Kosovo Health Promoting Hospitals Network
On 15 October 2025, representatives of all levels of healthcare, state institutions, civil society and patient advocates in Kosovo met to advance joint efforts under the Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) Network.
Dr. Lia Tavadze, Team Leader of the IHS Project, opened the coordination meeting, highlighting the fundamental principle of the HPH platform: “Patients become full-fledged players in the healthcare provision, and this network is the most providing platform that can deliver ample space for integrated health services.” Mr. Niman Bardhi, Director of Strategic Health Planning at the Ministry of Health (MOH) reiterated the continued fruitful collaboration to achieve planned activities.
In his keynote presentation, Prof. Dr. Gröne highlighted global trends in hospital-based health promotion and underlined the importance of integrating preventive, patient-centered approaches into routine care.
Updates followed from the member hospitals and primary health care centers in Peja, Gjakova, Lipjan, and PRAK, who shared progress, challenges, and future priorities in strengthening patient wellbeing and community outreach.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on shared commitments and next steps, reaffirming Kosovo’s commitment to embedding health promotion as a cornerstone of healthcare delivery.
Kosovo’s membership to the HPH Network is supported by the Swiss Development and Cooperation Office (SDC) through the IHS Project.
