Kosovo’s Primary Care Institutions Join Global Health Promoting Hospitals Network
Three main family medicine centers from Kosovo: Peja, Gjakova, and Lipjan, were officially awarded membership certificates in the Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) Network during a ceremony held in Peja on 24 June 2025. This moment further strengthens Kosovo’s integration into the international HPH platform, marking another step of the commitment to health promotion and patient-centered care.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Oliver Groene welcomed the new members, stating, “You are now part of a community. I am sharing with you some news that we are soon launching a massive online course, free of charge, for all members of the Health Promoting Network. You can encourage your staff to attend, to learn about health promotion and disease prevention. It will be a good resource for the future.”
In addition to individual membership, Kosovo now has its own national network of HPH Institutions, which can serve as a model for other healthcare institutions in the country to follow.
This event reflects a growing commitment to equipping healthcare professionals in Kosovo with the knowledge and tools to put patients and prevention at the heart of care delivery.
