Workshop in Peja Highlights Patient Engagement in Health Promoting Institutions
On 24 June 2025, the IHS Project organized in Peja a workshop focused on patient engagement. Led by Prof. Oliver Groene, the workshop brought together representatives of hospitals, primary healthcare, National Institute of Public Health, and Ministry of Health, to explore how patient engagement can enhance the overall patient experience, a concept crucial to healthcare improvement.
The workshop featured presentations of patient-reported experience survey results from the General Hospitals of Peja and Gjakova. These findings were contextualized with international comparisons and served as a starting point for interactive discussions on actionable improvements.
The afternoon sessions shifted toward strategic planning, including the development of patient education materials, health promotion initiatives, and the use of hospital spaces to support self-management programs. These discussions aim to institutionalize patient-centred practices across the network.
