General Hospital of Peja Showcases Advances in Patient-Centred Care
On 24 June 2025, the management at the General Hospital of Peja presented its recent advancements in patient-centred care during a visit from Prof. Oliver Groene of the Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH) Network and the IHS Project. The visit marked an important opportunity to highlight the hospital’s ongoing commitment to HPH standards and quality improvement.
In the Internal Medicine Ward, staff introduced the implementation of Health Education Rooms, an initiative supported by the IHS project, designed to enhance patient knowledge and engagement. Nurses shared updates on ward-based patient counselling practices and a newly introduced patient experience survey aimed at better understanding and addressing patient needs.
The Outpatient Department demonstrated its ongoing improvements in managing chronic conditions through a multidisciplinary approach that includes clinical counselling, diabetic foot care, and advanced ENMG-based diagnostics for neuropathy. These innovations are supported by upgraded patient reception areas and dedicated health education corners, reinforcing the hospital’s mission to provide holistic, accessible care.
