Developing Strategic Health Management Training of Trainers in Kosovo
A one-week mission led by international expert Dr. Manfred Zahorka, representing Optimedis, marked a significant step forward in advancing healthcare management training in Kosovo. The mission aimed to develop a comprehensive training package on strategic planning, tailored to local needs and aligned with the Ministry of Health’s (MoH) plans for integrated and population-sensitive healthcare services.
“The innovative element of this training is its integrative approach: bringing together hospital staff, primary care professionals, health service directors, and even patient representatives to improve service quality and coordination,” Dr. Zahorka stated.
As part of the mission, a two-day training session was held with representatives of primary and secondary healthcare to review and brainstorm draft modules. Participants provided valuable feedback on their practical application in healthcare settings, ensuring alignment with local needs and priorities.
Key discussions with senior management at the General Hospitals of Peja and Gjakova further emphasized the importance of tailoring the training to address regional challenges.
