Kosovo Hospitals Advance Clinical Audit Practices
Healthcare professionals from general hospitals of Kosovo gathered for a three-day workshop from December 4–6, 2024, to present their clinical audit plans and collaborate on the 2025 action plan. The action plan aligns with the newly adopted Quality Management System (QMS) framework. The workshop served also as a platform to share progress, tackle challenges, and develop strategies to improve clinical audit practices in general hospitals.
The workshop featured a series of key sessions, including updates on the current status of clinical audit implementation, common obstacles faced during rollout, and actionable solutions to overcome them. Participants worked collaboratively to develop tailored clinical audit plans, guided by expert facilitators and peer feedback to ensure alignment with best practices.
A key theme during discussions was the importance of stakeholder engagement and capacity building for clinical audit teams. Participants emphasized the need for ongoing expert and institutional support to finalize audit processes and meet the broader objectives of the QMS framework.
The event culminated in the adoption of a unified rollout plan for 2025. The plan includes clear timelines, designated responsibilities, and a commitment to using Key Performance Indicator (KPI) frameworks to monitor and evaluate audit outcomes. These efforts aim to establish a culture of continuous quality improvement in healthcare delivery.
To ensure sustained progress, project teams and experts will continue providing support to hospitals as they refine and implement their clinical audit processes. With these plans in place, hospitals are well-positioned to achieve their quality improvement goals in the coming year.
