Starting a Kosovo-Wide Media Literacy for Health Workshops
On 27. 08. 2025, Peja hosted the first in a series of seven workshops aimed at strengthening media literacy skills for health. Organized by the IHS Project, the session gathered representatives of civil society organizations from Peja, Klina, and Istog, alongside health sector professionals and local media.
The workshop addressed the growing challenge of health misinformation, which disproportionately affects vulnerable populations such as the elderly, youth, and people living with chronic conditions. Participants explored the difference between misinformation and disinformation, examined how false information erodes trust in healthcare systems, and practiced evaluating online health content.
Interactive exercises focused on analysing social media posts, identifying emotional manipulation, and testing the credibility of sources. Participants also discussed how digital algorithms shape public perceptions of health.
The initiative will continue across other regions of Kosovo in the coming months.
