Developing Standard Operating Procedures Manual for Nurses in Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare

Last week, a working group led by the Ministry of Health of Kosovo, had another meeting to continue actively working on the development of the first-ever Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual for nurses in Secondary and Tertiary Healthcare. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare quality, improve efficiency, and ensure patient safety.

This new SOP Manual will serve as a standardized framework for nursing practices across the healthcare sector, specifically in Secondary and Tertiary care settings. By establishing clear guidelines, the manual is expected to significantly raise the standards of care, streamline workflows, and reduce risks in patient treatment.

The working group comprises of representatives from the Ministry of Health, other healthcare institutions in the country, and the Patients’ Rights Association of Kosovo. This work is supported by the IHS project, underscoring the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to modernize healthcare practices and uphold high standards of patient care.
