IHS Supported Pristina.Innovate.Healthcare to Advance Patient-Centred Solutions
Over an intensive 48-hour event from 3 – 5 April 2026, the Pristina.Innovate.Healthcare Hackathon brought together 12 teams to develop innovative solutions around health-related challenges. The two challenges presented by IHS reflected our goal to strengthen integrated, people-centred health services and empower patients to better manage their health.
From IHS’s perspective, the event aimed to push beyond technology as an end in itself and instead focus on solutions that are meaningful for patients navigating everyday health challenges. Linda Baleta, IHS Senior Advocacy and Communication Expert highlighted during the opening remarks: “Health is not only a system, but also an experience.”
The hackathon concluded with presentations and evaluations by a jury of experts, recognizing innovative concepts that combined technology, empathy, and practical impact for Kosovo’s health system. Across the five challenges there were 12 competing teams. Two different teams were awarded for each IHS-presented challenge.
