First Cohort Concludes the Health Management Training

The first cohort of professionals from Kosovo’s health institutions has successfully completed the five-module Health Management Training programme. From May 2025 to April 2026, the training program equipped participants with enhanced skills in health strategic planning, leadership, quality management system and clinical audit, monitoring and evaluation, and resource management.

The final 3-day module delivered between 31 March to 2 April, presented by three different trainers, focused on procurement, human resources, and financial management in the health sector, emphasizing practical approaches to managing limited resources while improving the quality of care. Sessions explored key topics such as public procurement processes, workforce planning in hospitals, and strategic financial decision-making. Participants engaged in case studies, group work, and simulations aimed at identifying inefficiencies and optimizing resource allocation for better patient outcomes.

A strong focus was placed on value-based healthcare, encouraging participants to examine how decisions impact patient pathways and service delivery. Discussions also highlighted the role of clinical and managerial staff in reducing operational waste and improving internal performance indicators.

The Health Management Training is organized by the Ministry of Health of Kosovo with the support of the IHS Project.
