Motivational Interviewing Training with Gjakova Healthcare Professionals
On the last week of February, doctors and nurses at the General Hospital of Gjakova took part in the Motivational Interviewing and Effective Patient Communication training, with a particular focus on dealing with non-communicable diseases patients.
The training provided practical tools to support patients with behaviour change, and sustaining motivation throughout their treatment journey. The program built on interactive exercises, case discussions, and role play, allowing participants to explore the shift from directive advice toward a patient-centred approach in busy hospital settings.
The training is accredited by the Chamber of Nurses of Kosovo with 10 continuing education credits, contributing to ongoing professional development while reinforcing a culture of patient-centred care within the hospital setting.
