Ferizaj Activists Build Capacity to Counter AI Health Misinformation
On 12 February 2026, IHS organized a workshop in Ferizaj bringing together representatives of local NGOs and community activists to address the growing impact of artificial intelligence on health misinformation.
As part of the ongoing “Media Literacy for Better Health” initiative, the session focused on strengthening capacities to recognize and respond to misleading health content circulating online. Particular attention was given to how AI tools are being used to produce highly persuasive false information, including fabricated medical advice, manipulated images, and synthetic videos that can easily mislead vulnerable groups.
Participants worked on case studies relevant to their local context and discussed strategies for community outreach, responsible communication, and building public trust around health topics.
One participant highlighted the broader importance of the initiative, stating: “We are very grateful for the support from Switzerland, which through IHS brings high-quality and relevant health education to civil society organizations. For community activists, this knowledge is essential. We are often the first point of contact for citizens, and it is our responsibility to understand these issues and share accurate information further in our communities.”
