Civil Society Organizations in Prishtina Talk Patients’ Voices

Around 15 representatives from civil society organizations and the Office of the Ombudsperson met on 19 June 2025 for the workshop “What Do Patients Say?”. This workshop, the seventh in this round of meetings between civil society organizations and the IHS project, aimed to collect firsthand information and discuss empowering patients in the region of Prishtina, particularly those living with non-communicable chronic diseases.

The workshop served as a platform for dialogue addressing challenges and exploring opportunities for stronger patient involvement in shaping health services. Participants shared experiences, discussed the role of civil society and institutions in amplifying patient voices, and proposed concrete actions to improve local healthcare systems.

Visare Berisha of Assist Kosovo praised the initiative, calling it an important step toward a more inclusive and responsive healthcare system that truly listens to patients. “I especially appreciate the effort to listen to the voices of patients and turn that into a valuable resource for improving services. This format not only encourages dialogue but also promotes concrete actions at the local level.”
