Mitrovica Workshop Highlights Need for Empowering Patient Voices
On 27 February 2025, a workshop aimed at strengthening patient engagement and advocacy approaches brought together representatives from local civil society organizations (CSOs) in Mitrovica region. Part of the ongoing “Empowering the Voice of Patients” IHS initiative, the event focused on key challenges affecting patients in the region.
Through group exercises and discussions, participants identified several pressing issues, including barriers and gaps in healthcare services, from their perspective as patients or patient representatives. On the other hand, experts from the Office for Free Legal Aid provided insights into legal mechanisms that could improve patient representation. The workshop also explored strategies to enhance collaboration between patients, healthcare institutions, and policymakers.
IHS Project, which organized the workshop, aims to strengthen partnerships between CSOs and healthcare providers to ensure patient voices are heard.
