General Hospital of Gjakova Joins International Network of Peer Hospitals
On 6 March 2024, at a ceremony organized in the premises of the General Hospital of Gjakova, Director Hilmi Shala received the certificate as a Health Promotion Hospital, thus becoming member of the global network. This membership opens new opportunities for the GH of Gjakova to exchange experiences on an international level. The certificate was presented by Prof. Dr. Oliver Gröne, CEO of the Secretariat of International HPH Network.
“This is one of the most important days since the establishment of our institution,” said hospital director Mr. Hilmi Shala. “Joining the International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals strengthens our collaboration with global health institutions and supports our sustainable progress to providing quality care for our community.”
Speaking on behalf of the Integrated Health Services (IHS) project, Dr. Ilir Mecini said, “This certificate is further testimony of the commitment and continuous efforts by the GH of Gjakova towards providing quality healthcare services that are patient-centered.”
IHS, which is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Health and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) in Kosovo facilitated the process of GH of Gjakova membership to the Health Promoting Hospitals network.
