Initiative to Improve NCD Reporting Brings Together Journalists and Health Experts
On 30 March 2026, journalists and public health experts met for the launch of the initiative “Beyond Headlines: Journalism, Non-Communicable Diseases, and the Stories That Matter”. This collaboration between the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK) and the Integrated Health Services (IHS).
The first meeting between journalists and experts highlighted the need for clearer, more in-depth reporting on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Kosovo. Speakers from the Ministry of Health, IHS, and AGK emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration between media and health professionals to make complex health information more accessible to the public.
Participants discussed priority topics and formally established journalist–expert teams that will co-produce stories, interviews, and other content during the project. The initiative aims to strengthen health journalism, improve public understanding of NCDs, and promote more accurate, human-centred reporting.
