Health Institutions Strengthen Digital Communication on NCDs

Representatives of Kosovo’s public health institutions strengthened their capacity to translate scientific evidence into clear, engaging and actionable digital content during a two-day practical training held on 3–4 September 2026.
 
The training brought together National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo (NIPH) experts, as well as Ministry of Health and the Hospital and University Clinical Service of Kosovo officials. Participants worked with real public health priorities to develop audience-friendly messages, social media content, infographics and coordinated digital campaigns.
 
“Accurate health information creates greater public value when people can understand it better and are encouraged to act upon it. Trainings of this kind help public health institutions combine scientific credibility with communication that is clear, accessible and impactful,” said Prof. Dr. Merita Berisha of NIPH.
 
Through hands-on exercises, participants transformed technical information on noncommunicable diseases into health messages and developed communication concepts for World Heart Day, World Diabetes Day, World Cancer Day, World Health Day and World No Tobacco Day. The training also introduced reusable infographic formats and a structured calendar for year-round digital health communication.
 
The initiative contributes to stronger institutional communication that supports prevention, encourages healthier behaviours and brings reliable public health information closer to citizens.
