Gender-Responsive Health Communication Session in Gjakova
The second session on health communication and gender-responsive approaches in healthcare was conducted on 15 May 2026 with health professionals from secondary and primary care in Gjakova.
The workshop explored how communication can better support patients in understanding health risks, making informed decisions, and responding appropriately to treatment. Emphasis was placed on how health messages are often ineffective when they fail to reflect the everyday realities, beliefs, and constraints that shape people’s choices.
Through interactive discussions and practical examples, participants examined common gaps between medical advice and patient behavior, including how personal experiences, social roles, and competing priorities influence health decisions.
The session encouraged health professionals to move beyond one-size-fits-all messaging, equipping them with approaches to tailor communication to patients’ lived experiences. By doing so, the training aimed to improve patient engagement, strengthen trust, and enhance the overall impact of prevention and care.
