Health Professionals in Peja Strengthen Skills in Gender-Responsive Health Communication

Health professionals from secondary and primary care in Peja participated on 14 May 2026 in a training on health communication and gender-responsive approaches in clinical practice.

Led by Prof. Suzanne Suggs, the workshop focused on improving patient communication by addressing how gender roles, caregiving responsibilities, and access barriers influence health behaviours and outcomes, particularly in the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases.

The session highlighted the importance of integrating communication and gender perspectives into routine healthcare services.

Through interactive sessions and real-life case discussions, participants explored practical approaches to gender-responsive communication, identifying ways to adapt communication to patients’ daily realities and improve patient engagement, treatment adherence, and the effectiveness of prevention efforts.
